Education is a vital part of Boot Hill Museum mission. We strive to provide a fun learning environment for children of all ages. School Field Trips to Boot Hill Museum are a great and exciting way to teach students about life in the Old West
School Tour Rates
School groups, children and adults will receive admission for $4.00 per person. This includes a self guided tour and a location to enjoy lunch, if applicable to your visit. Reservations are required.
Dodge City School Rates – FREE
All Dodge City schools are invited to visit the museum anytime, free of charge for a self guided tour. Reservations are required.
Kansas Week Tours – FREE
Kansas Week Tours leave a lasting impression on our young visitors, additional costumed staff are on hand, several interactive stations are set up throughout the museum complex. It is a great time to visit Boot Hill Museum! Dates and space are limited for free Kansas Week Tours. Reservations are required and we urge you to make them as soon as possible to ensure availability.
Meals and Additional Options
School Lunch Options
All schools groups are invited to bring a sack lunch to enjoy during their visit, or groups can have lunch delivered from an outside location. Weather permitting all schools will dine at the outdoor picnic area. In case of inclement weather indoor locations will be provided.
Additional School Tour Options
Shopping in the Gift Shop – Please let us know ahead of your tour if you will be allowing your class to shop, we will help break them into small groups and will have extra staff on hand to help them through the store.
Sarsaparilla $1.25 – let your students enjoy an old fashioned sarsaparilla in the Long Branch Saloon, or have them packaged to take home for a souvenir.
Packaged Goodie Bags $2.00 to $6.00 – Goodie Bags vary in price and contain anything from tin badges, candy to pencils. This is a great option if you would like all of your children to receive the same souvenirs. Goodie bags must be ordered in advance.
Teachers, please read the following carefully before your visit to Boot Hill Museum.
Provide all of your students with name tags that include their name AND school.
Arrange to have 1 adult for every 10 students, more adults are encouraged.
Please print Teacher Guides prior to your arrival and share them with your adult chaperons.
Discuss with your students prior to arrival appropriate museum etiquette. We do not tolerate running, loud voices, or disruptive behavior of any kind. Please be mindful that we ARE open to regular museum guests in addition to your school group. We want everyone to be able to enjoy their time with us.
Upon arrival please send in one adult to check in and take care of any remaining balances your school may have. This adult will also receive instruction on how to unload your students and where to go.
