Museum Expansion in Full Force

Boot Hill Museum is thrilled to report construction is in full force for its expansion project. This project is made possible through a STAR Bond initiative and in partnership with the City of Dodge City.

The new construction will greatly improve access to the museum. However, this requires the front ramp access to be removed early in the construction process. Access is being rerouted for the duration of construction.

Guests requiring ramp access are asked to park in the employee parking lot on 5th street located directly on the north side of the Great Western building. This lot is across the street from the Teachers Hall of Fame. There is a door located under a small awning and a doorbell to gain access. Guests may also call the museum office for assistance at 620-227-8188.

The museum will remain open during regular business hours during construction. The People of the Plains building, the Rath General Store, the Long Branch Saloon, all of the Beeson Gallery and the First Union Church will be open daily. The Occident room remains accessible and available for events.

Winter hours are Monday – Saturday 9:00 am to 5:00 pm and Sunday 1:00 pm to 5:00 pm. Boot Hill Museum closes at 2:00 pm on Christmas Eve and is closed on Christmas and New Year’s Day.
